These stories, based on oral tradition, are new versions of well-known fairy-tales, re-written for teenage readers.
The German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung called Rodríguez Almodóvar the Spanish brother Grimm. In her speech at the Premio Cervantes 2011, Spanish author Ana María Matute called him the third of the Grimm brothers.
The first three stories in the series are:
