The Argentine author Inés Garland has been awarded the XXI Premio Alandar (awarded by Edelvives) for her new YA novel “De la boca del león”.
The novel is about 14-year-old Tadeo, the youngest in his family, who is mercilessly bullied by one of his brothers, Iván. His home environment is characterized by a stifling atmosphere full of secrets. One day, while strolling along the river, he meets Vera, a girl of the same age. Vera and her family immediately captivate him. They open up a new way for him to understand the world and help him look at life with hope and find himself.
