Zippi and Saladin at the Frankfurt Book Fair
At this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair, the publisher Ariella presented the new young-adult novel Und frei bist Du noch lange nicht (The long way to freedom) by Adriana Stern.
The gripping novel tells the story of a group of refugee children, focusing on Zippi, a Jewish girl from Azerbaijan, and Saladin, who – together with his brother – fled from Syria. Emigration, escape and arriving in a foreign country are addressed as well as children and adolescents overcoming boundaries and prejudices, friendship and even first love.
